What is birth photography?

Birth photography documents one of the most meaningful days in your family’s life. I quietly capture every stage of labor, your baby’s first moments, emotional reactions, and the connection between your growing family without interfering with your birth experience.

What does a birth photography session include?

✔ Labor support moments

✔ Hospital arrival

✔ Active labor (when permitted)

✔ Baby’s first breath

✔ First skin-to-skin contact

✔ First family portraits

✔ First meeting with siblings

✔ Fresh newborn moments

✔ Details of your baby’s first hours

My birth photography approach

Birth is unpredictable, emotional, and deeply personal.

My approach is completely documentary. I don’t direct, interrupt, or stage important moments. Instead, I quietly document your story as it naturally unfolds while always respecting hospital staff and your birth plan.

Is birth photography allowed in hospitals?

Most hospitals allow professional birth photography with your care team’s approval.

I always respect your doctor’s, nurse’s, and hospital’s policies and never interfere with medical care.

When should I book my birth photographer?

Birth photography should ideally be reserved during your second trimester.

Because births happen unexpectedly, I accept only a limited number of due dates each month to remain on call for my clients.

What happens if I go into labor early?

I remain on call around your due date and do everything possible to be available whenever labor begins.

Because birth is unpredictable, every client receives flexible coverage around their estimated due date.

Can siblings be included?

Absolutely.

Older brothers and sisters often create some of the most emotional moments during a birth story, and I’m always happy to document those first introductions whenever possible.

Fresh 48 Photography

If you’re not looking for full birth coverage, I also offer Fresh 48 sessions during your baby’s first day at the hospital.

Yes! In addition to birth photography, I also offer cinematic birth films that beautifully tell your family’s story. A birth film captures the sounds, emotions, first cries, and unforgettable moments that photographs alone can’t preserve. Birth photography and birth videography can be booked separately or together.

After Fresh 48, continue the story with a full Newborn session
